Our Story

Black Harbor Press is an independent press. We believe in the power and value of the written word. And we’re here to make reading just a little more enjoyable.

We specialize in Family-Friendly content.

What does that mean to us?

Our goal is to publish books that can be read aloud.

Some books that are intended to be read to or with young children.

And other books that young adults as well as parents and grandparents can enjoy. All of our books should be able to be read by the average young adult or older reader.

We set a loose G to PG threshold for all the books we publish and our authors work hard to stay within this guideline.

In short, this means that while we do not intend all of our titles for very young children (because of the reading level as well as possible PG content in some of our books), we try to publish books that are suitable for all members of an average family.
